Tate Library and Archive, Tate Britain, London. December 2020

Tate acquired two of my artists’ photo books ‘Cabrach Doors’ and ‘Green Wave’ to add to their collection in Tate Britain on Millbank in London. The library holds an extensive collection of artists’ books dating from the 1960’s to the present day.

Artists’ Book exhibition, Upright Gallery, Edinburgh December 2020

Two of my artists’ books were chosen to be included in the galleries ‘Re:connections’ exhibition which featured a selection of artists’ books by over 30 makers on the theme of connections tied in with lockdown caused by the global pandemic.

Impressions Gallery Photobook Fair, Bradford November 2020

I was delighted to have my handmade photobook ‘Where Loveliness Slumbers’ chosen to be included in the galleries Photobook Fair again this year. Due to Covid restrictions the fair was held online.

The De Pietri Artphilean Foundation, Switzerland. March 2020.

The Foundation acquired three of my artists’ photo books, ‘Savoy Leaves’, ‘Land Lines’ and ‘Green Wave’ to add to their collection within the Artphilean Library in Lugano in Switzerland. The Library collects books about, and of, photography specialising in books produced by small independent publishers and artists’ photo books.

Royal Scottish Academy Annual & Open Exhibition, Edinburgh. Oct/Dec 2019

My black and white photograph ‘Winter Fields’ was selected for inclusion in the R.S.A. annual exhibition at their gallery on The Mound in Edinburgh, which for 2019 included the open exhibition that is usually held separately during the summer months.

From an edition of five, one remains.

Impressions Gallery Photobook Fair, Bradford. Nov 2019

My artists’ photobook ‘Frosted Sands’ was chosen to be shown at the gallery’s annual photobook fair. This is my third consecutive year showing my books at the gallery. The images are displayed in concertina form so all can be viewed at once or can be viewed as in a traditional book form.

Society of Scottish Artists exhibition ‘Time Spent Amongst Trees’, Forfar. Oct/Nov 2019

I was elected a professional member of the Society of Scottish Artists in the summer of 2019 and so I was delighted to be able to submit work to this exhibition of professional members at the Meffan Gallery in Forfar.

My photograph ‘Tanglewood’ was printed 4 ft wide to show all the cobwebby details to the maximum.

The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, London. July/August 2019

My tunnel book ‘Winter Trees’ was selected for inclusion in the Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition in London. 12,000 artist’s apply each year and I was really pleased to to be one of the 1,500 included in the exhibition.

My book was a limited edition of 2 with both selling before the exhibition opened to the public. I was also commission to make a similar tunnel book using a different image.

Society of Scottish Artist’s Annual Exhibition, Edinburgh. Dec/Jan 2018/19

I had 2 works selected for inclusion in the S.S.A. annual exhibition that is held in the Royal Scottish Academy building in Edinburgh. ‘Winter Trees’ tunnel book and my photograph ‘Moth & Snail’. It’s an abstract image of patterns left on a disused distillery tank by feeding snails. When you look closely you can see a snail feeding and a small camouflaged moth.

Two of my artists’ books were exhibited in this winter exhibition. ‘Autumn’, which is concertina book constructed from one of my tree photographs with handmade rubber stamp leaf details and ‘Blue Feathers’ which is an artists’ flag book again using handmade rubber stamp details

My artists’ concertina photobook ‘Land Lines’ was chosen to be shown at the gallery’s annual photobook fair. It’s a book I’ve made from a small selection of photographs from my Land Lines photo project that shows the marks left on the land by farming practices.

Stills Gallery Photobook Market, Edinburgh. Feb 2018

I was chosen to show a selection of my artists’ and photobooks at the inaugural Stills Photobook Market. Many had not come across artists’ books and so there were some really interesting discussions about them and their use with photography.

Common Ground Exhibition, Southampton City Galley. 2017/18

I was commissioned by the photographer, David Baker to produce an artists’ book with images portraying my take on his photographs of Southampton Common. It is a large scale double concertina book stretching to over 1 metre long when extended. I used paint, ink, graphite and natural materials throughout the work.

This was the first time that I applied to have a photobook included in the gallery’s annual photobook fair and I was delighted that my concertina book ‘Sky’ was chosen to be shown. It shows the many and varied beautiful big skies that can be seen from the island of South Uist in the Outer Hebrides.

My first time applying to have my work included in an exhibition and I was so pleased that the R.S.A. panel chose my photographic print ‘Atlantic Ocean - South Uist’ to be shown. It was bought by a very nice man from Beverly Hills.
